I'd like to take a moment to pay my respects to the memory of Terry Lester who
passed away November 28th. Terry and I had crossed paths, but never met before
he left the role of Mason on Santa Barbara. I knew we had both played Petruchio
in Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate, and asked him if he would sing "Where is the
Life that Late I Led" with me as a duet at a benefit for Santa Susana Rep in
the early 90's. He agreed, and we became friends. He later did several plays
for the company, including El Gallo in The Fantastiks, Boolie in Driving Miss
Daisy, the Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol, De Guiche in
Cyrano de Bergerac (the only time we actually acted together onstage), and
Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream. He was a terrific singer, a great actor,
and a first-rate human being. He will be deeply missed.

"The likelihood of one individual being correct increases in a direct
proportion to the intensity with which others try to prove him wrong"
James Mason from the movie "Heaven Can Wait".
Leave it to 70's Cartoon Nostaglia to elicit the "Oh Crap THAT'S WHo He
Is!" reaction.
