Milford collapsed and died Monday while en route to his nearby home after
outpatient treatment for skin cancer in Santa Monica, said publicist Dale C.
Olson.
The actor, who made his film debut in ``Marty,'' had television guest roles in
dozens of popular series over 40 years including ``The X-Files,'' ``MacGyver,''
``Dallas,'' ``Quincy,'' ``Cagney & Lacey,'' ``Dynasty,'' ``Highway to Heaven,''
``Picket Fences'' and ``Melrose Place.'' As one of ``The Mighty Carson
Players,'' he appeared opposite Johnny Carson on ``The Tonight Show,'' playing
Russian leader Leonid Brezhnev to Carson's Ronald Reagan.
Sorry to hear this. Milford was a familiar face, someone like those John
Doucette-John Harmon-Myron Healey type guys who used to populate the
villainous portions of SUPERMAN and THE LONE RANGER. I used to see Milford
at various auditions and always meant to tell him how much I enjoyed his
work, but just never did. Wish I had.
