Dr Israel Arnold Ziff, OBE, who died 14 July, 2004, after a brief
illness, was founder and Chairman of Town Centre Securities PLC, a
property investment and development company.

The Lord-Lieutenant for West Yorkshire and Mr Roscoe, the High Sheriff
of West Yorkshire and Mrs Barker were present at a memorial service for
Dr Israel Arnold Ziff, businessman, philanthropist and High Sheriff of
West Yorkshire, 1991, held yesterday at Beth Hamidrash Hagadol
Synagogue, Leeds.

Rabbi Daniel Levy, who also gave an address, and the Rev Lionel
Rosenfeld officiated.

Dr Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi, the Right Rev Steven Oliver, Bishop of
Stepney, Mrs Marjorie Ziff, widow, and Mr Michael Ziff and Mr Edward
Ziff, sons, paid tribute.

Members of the Shabbaton Choir, directed by Mr Stephen Levey, sang
during the service.

The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Leeds and the Lord Mayor of
Bradford attended. Among others present were:

Mr and Mrs Nigel Manning (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs Michael Ziff
and Mrs Edward Ziff (daughters-in-law), Sam, Henry, Alexander,

University, Mr Sherrard Cowper-Coles, the Vice Chancellor of Leeds

GB, Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, WIZO, the Association of High Sheriffs
of England and Wales, Leeds City Council, Leeds City Art Gallery, Leeds
