GARRY SHANDLING DEAD AT 66

3/24/2016 12:48 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

1:44 PM PT -- Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Shandling
died from a massive heart attack, with no prior warning whatsoever.

Comedian Garry Shandling died at an L.A. area hospital on Thursday ...
TMZ has learned.

The 66-year-old star was not suffering from any illness ... as far as
we know ... so, it appears this was sudden. A source connected to
Shandling says he was healthy and speaking to people on Thursday
morning.

Our source says there was a 911 call from "The Larry Sanders Show"
star's home, and he was transported to the hospital. We're told
Shandling was alive when he arrived at the hospital.

Last weekend, Shandling was hanging with friends Kathy Griffin and Bob
Odenkirk ... who also co-starred with Garry on 'Larry Sanders.'

Story developing ...

That's a shame. I enjoyed his one show.

Seriously? You seriously think you get any mileage out of *that* ???

I seem to remember some guy who was reading a storybook to a bunch of
kiddies while something interesting was going on.

And a guy who spent most of his time lying out at the ranch while other
people were dealing with things back in DC.

Hmmmm. Now who could that have been???

and eat a whole tub of Rocky Road ice cream.

And when over 3,000 people were killed on 9/11/01 on American soil, George W Bush, once informed of that attack, read "My Pet Goat" to school children.

Way to go Dubya.

The point is - that's what he was supposed to do. Dubya had to be kept out
of the picture so that the adults who were actually running things (Cheney,
et al) could be free to do what was needed (coordinate with Bin Laden and
so on - making sure their watches were synchronized, etc).

And that's what really, really galls folks like "Ubiquitous": that their
guy was missing in action because he was a dumbass buffoon, deliberately
kept on the sidelines by his own people. Compared to that ugly truth,
anything they can make up about a real President can do, and never will do,
anything to ease the pain.

I don't think they are comparable either, but since the poster was ignoring the "wrong", I just thought I'd point out his hypocrisy.

2001 wrong.

2016 right.

Of course they are "comparable", because here we are, 3 smart young men,
comparing them.

I'm curious in what sense either or both of you think they are not
"comparable".

Think it through. The only way to determine whether or not two things
are comparable is to compare them.

I was responding to the stupid tag line by Ubiquitous, in which he wrongly states that Obama's historic visit to Cuba, after 55 years of failed policies towards that county, and after tremendous ground-breaking preparations had been made, should have been stopped due to the tragic terrorist attack in Brussels. As if Obama watching a ballgame would affect the Belgian investigation and response to that.

It occurred to me that it was quite hypocritical to castigate Obama when almost 15 years ago, the response to the worst attack on America, by the then sitting president was to continue reading a childrens' story to a group of elementary students.

THIS HAPPENNED ON AMERICAN SOIL. I doubt very much that had an attack on America occurred last week, that Obama would have stayed on in Havana or continued his trip.

I used this as a comparison, but there really is no comparison because of the location, and that is why Ubiquitous, whose well know ultra conservative taunts can usually be found in rec.arts.tv, is wrong...Obama is not the prime minister of Belgium, he is the president of the USA. Had this happened in the USA, and Obama sat thought the ballgame, he would have a point.

How is telling you what the USSS did on 9/11 regarding GWB's security
in Florida make me a Bush apologist?

I countered your failed argument with facts. Your arguments stem
