Well, it's Tuesday, June 6, 2023...but just about NOBODY on the streets* whom I quiz each and every June 6th has ever correctly answered EITHER of these questions:

1. On which day of the week did the D-Day invasion occur?

2. What did the initial D in D-Day stand for?

I'd wager JUST ABOUT NO ONE herein can answer both correctly. (Well, maybe Louis Epstein, but no one else.)

1. In 1944, June 6th was a Tuesday...just like in 2023.
2. "Day", though it sure seems terribly inexplicable, at least to me. (Until I learned it was following suit of "H-Hour". Docha think this weird fact should have been written into "The Longest Day" dialogue?)
