Rapper Soulja Slim killed

The Associated Press
11/26/2003, 10:22 p.m. CT

New Orleans (AP) — James Tapp, better known as rapper Soulja Slim, was shot
and killed tonight as he got out of his vehicle in front of his mother's
house.

New Orleans Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Accardo says the
25-year-old Tapp was shot several times in his mother's front yard on Lafaye
Street. Accardo says though police are sure Tapp was the target of the
shooting, they don't yet have a motive.

Tapp's lyrics were laden with talk of violence, including references to
drugs, gangs and drive-by shootings. He was signed to rapper Master P's No
Limit label.

Reminds me. Whatever happoened to Sistah Souljah (I think that's how
you spell it)? She was the one Bill Clinton criticized for violent
lyrics, etc., during the 1992 campaign.

I suspect that they are on videotape.

Upon receiving news that PirateJohn had made the remarks below,
and after consultations with my Joint Chiefs of Staff, being
briefed by members of my Cabinet and telephone conversations
with various world leaders, I have come to the following
conclusions:

Well, at the very least, it appears that Sistah Souljah realized
that she really couldn't sing after all. Now if we can just
convince every other rapper of the same thing. Perhaps we should
spend more time complimenting them more on their shooting skills
rather than that gibberish they think is music, eh?
