Scott "Skott" Greene, a prominent tattoo artist and owner of Doors of
Perception Tattoo in West Warwick, Rhode Island [and Providence
Plantations] died February 20, 2003, in The Station nightclub fire, at
the age of 35.
Mr. Greene was always drawing and was passionate about art and music,
said his wife, Sandi. "Skott will be remembered for his love of life,
and for his loving personality, as well as his artwork," she said.
"His family is honored to know that many people across the country
hold the greatest memorial to him: the tattoos he gave them. That is
the greatest tribute."
Born in Warwick, Mr. Greene graduated from Toll Gate High School in
Warwick. He began creating tattoos at Electric Ink in East Providence,
Rhode Island, where he worked for nine years and met Sandi Victorino,
formerly of Lynnfield, Massachusetts.
The couple married in 1999 and turned a longtime dream into reality
when they opened Doors of Perception Tattoo in 2001.
Only hours before the show, Mr. Greene tattooed the lead singer of
Great White, Jack Russell, and Mr. Greene and several of his friends
were put on the guest list, his wife said.
