IIRC, George Burns died five days after his 100th.

There was speculation at the time that George Burns had in fact died
sometime earlier and the news of it was delayed so that he be said to
have made it past his hundredth. It was evidenced by the fact that he
had not made a public appearance of any sort for a couple of years
before hand.
I cannot help but wonder if similar speculation will occur now...

Bob Hope died 8 weeks and 3 days after he turned 100. As Dolores Hope
predicted a few years ago to Larry King, Bob outlasted George Burns.

Maybe that's because both actually had passed away months before their
milestone birthdays, but the news was kept quiet for obvious reasons. A
few weeks after the 100th, the deaths are announced. Not a nefarious
conspiracy theory, but a pretty decent one, I think.

Even though the same will be said by so many, so many times ... Thanks
for the memories.
