'Malcolm and Eddie' Costar dies

HOLLYWOOD (Aug. 4) - Jaime Cardriche, best known for his portrayal of the
brilliant gentle giant Tim on UPN's "Malcolm and Eddie,'' died July 28 of
complications resulting from gall bladder surgery at Torrance Memorial Hospital
in Torrance, Calif. He was 32.

Cardriche, who starred opposite Tony Danza in the Disney TV movie "The Garbage
Picking, Field Goal Kicking, Philadelphia Phenomenon,'' also had recurring
roles on "A Different World'' and "Renegade'' and guest spots on several other
shows, including "Law & Order'' and "The Wayans Bros.''

Cardriche's film credits include "House Party,'' "Deep Cover'' and Water Line
Prods.' recently wrapped "Focus.''

A Savannah, Ga., native raised in Cerritos, Calif., Cardriche attended Oklahoma
State University as an All-American football player before becoming a pro
wrestler known as "The Harlem Warlord.'' He broke into the acting world when a
casting director discovered him while working out in a local gym.

Cardriche is survived by his mother, grandparents and four children.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Double Rock Baptist Church,
1900 W. Alondra Blvd., Compton, Calif.

Foundation, PO Box 2109, Artesia, CA 90702.

This implies that he was a single dad of four children, and/or that his wife passed
away first. Anyone know what's up with this?

It doesn't imply that to me. More likely he's divorced. There's nothing here
that says the children lived with him, any more than his grandparents did.
