Controversial Separatist Robert Millar Dead at 75

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma (AP) -- The Rev. Robert Millar, spiritual leader of the
Elohim City white separatist compound, died Monday after suffering a heart
attack. He was 75.

The federal government has monitored the Christian Identity group at Elohim
City since the 1980s because of its alliance with white supremacy groups.

Timothy McVeigh called a man living at Elohim City before the April 19, 1995,
bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The man was
not at the compound when McVeigh called.

Millar denied any connection to the explosion that killed 168 people, or to
McVeigh.

Robert Millar was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Ontario, Canada. He moved the white
separatist group to Adair County, in eastern Oklahoma, in 1973.

His son, John Millar, is expected to take over as spiritual leader.

No longer an Okie from Muskogee, then.

Why is it fashionable lately to use the word "controversial" instead
of "asshole" ?

"Controversial" is an adjective; "asshole" is a noun. They're not
interchangeable, and "assholish" is forbidden by the AP stylebook.

In this case "controversial asshole" Rev. Robert Millar would seem
applicable.
