Okay, this is about as obscure as obscure gets, Folks:

This guy Malcolm Mealey (aka Malcolm Mealy) appeared in but two
episodes of that terrific first season of "The Aventures of Superman",
which featured, of course, the Lois-Lane-for-the-ages of Phyllis
Coates (who is still living and in 2003 guested on my Albuquerque talk
radio broadcast). Those episodes were "The Deserted Village" and "No
Holds Barred", where Mealey/Mealy played, respectively, the
pharmacist's son Alvin and the young wrestler who was a friend of
Lois's.

IMDB has nothing on Mealey/Mealy other than that he also appeared in a
single episode of "My Little Margie"...BUT they report a 19% recent
uptick in activity on his name, oddly enough. (Is Nick at Night
running the Coates season of the series this week I bet?).

Anyway, Mealey/Mealy looked to be only about 20 or so when that first
season was filmed in 1951, so there's a decent chance he's still with
us. Can anyone herein add anything? (I'd like to phone him up if
he's still kicking, so kindly tell me where he's at these days if you
happen to know.)

Other than the usual hits for his Superman episodes, I found this
obscure thing:

"MALCOLM MEALEY '40, of Fullerton, Calif.; Oct. 29, 1998, of cancer. He
was 77. He played football for USC, briefly acted in films - both as a
child and after attending USC - and owned an art gallery. Survivors are
his wife, Korla; sons Chuck Jones and Mark Mealey; and five
grandchildren."

(It's tagged on to the obit for "Edgar Allen Ablowwich")

Wow, Matthew! And so lightning-fast! I haven't a clue how you do it,
but mucho thanks. (I shoulda asked eleven years ago, I guess...)

Oh, and "Islanders" Erik: for your part, you're still a mean-spirited
vulgarian, as if you didn't know it. But happy holidays anyway and
good luck anyway!

Well, to steal what thunder I can by means of an unverifiable claim, I knew
Mealey was dead several years ago and was about to answer when I saw that
Matthew already had done so. I tried to interview him, but only found a
contact address/number for him a few weeks after his death. C'est la mort.

It's not magic, Bryan. Open a web browser, go to google.com, and search
for Malcolm Mealey. The USC obit is the first result returned.

Wasn't it Dave Sill who said...

Yabbut, if he ever figures out how to use google, he's not going
to have any reason to post here anymore. Except, of course, to
grovel at the foot of Roy's use of google.

Some info about and pics of Malcolm Mealey here. He was born Nov 18, 1920, and died
in November of 1998 from abdominal cancer, just a few days before his 78th birthday
(according to his step-son).

Thanks for digging this up, as it was quite interesting. Sorry I didn't know about this in the late 80s, when I was still living in Los Angeles and could easily have trekked down to Fullerton to meet him at his shop. I bet he would have appreciated someone appreciating his obscure but creditable small-screen work nearly four decades prior.

Much appreciate your research!

Here is an Interview with Malcolm Mealey aka Alvin Godfrey and the Monster of The Deserted Village. http://www.jimnolt.com/malcolmmealey.htm FYI: Phyllis Coates was married briefly to Richard L. Bare the director of Green Acres. Had lunch with him several years back in New Port Beach, CA where he lived.
