Maybe he didn't get to screw enough. Being a child of the late 80's, the stigma of AIDS and the lack of appreciation of the gay/straight continuim, may have been at least as much a contributing factor as "he had too much sex with too many people".

By the sound of things, it was the dope that killed him.

Cutting back on that and giving his mighty love sausage time to recover
between jobs might have allowed him a longer life.

There is no evidence of that. There is just as much evidence that if only he would have screwed more, he would have added years to his life. Further, I will insist that having sex does not drain one's life vitality. Plenty of satyrs have lived to a ripe old age. Some people need more sex than others.
