Carolinas for the 2010 East Coast Chili Cookoff sponsored by
Travelites and held this year at Serendipity, Georgia's Premier Family
Nudist Park just 90 minutes northeast of Atlanta. The 19 who planned
to enter their dishes were from not only Serendipity but other area
nudist venues. Some drove over 6 hours to compete or just attend this
annual event.
The top place winners for this year are all from Serendipity. The
first place winner (Annette) received a 7' bathsheet with the event
commemorated. The other winners received certificates. There were
several Honorable Mention awards to other clubs as well.
The judges hailed from Travelites as well as Serendipity and did a
superb job. Thank you to our Travelites member who stepped up to carry
the chili samples to the judges from the serving area.
An interesting side note on this year's first place entry: Annette
thought the competition was to be held the previous week. After she
prepared her dish, she called the park to ask what the time was for
the judging and was told it was the following week. Well, the trial
dish won her first place when she re-created the masterpiece.
The hospitality of the park just grows more each year. The management
and staff went above and beyond to make this year's event the best one
yet and agreed to hold it there in 2011.
Travelites were invited back to enjoy the ammenities of this park as
often as we'd like to visit. It has been scheduled for the Labor Day
weekend. Make your reservations now so as to not miss out on a great
event. To those of you who have been smoke-sensitive in the
past...there is now no smoking in the clubhouse at all.
