[Theorizing based on having just watched Salvidore Dali rotting in a
wheelchair, shrieking patriotic gibberish at reporters. Please ignore,
although it gets better after the third paragraph.]

It's not enough to be random. That's what a lot of you fail to
understand. Don't piece together random bits of nonsense and call
yourself a God. The meaninglessness must have meaning. In the lack of
meaning there is still a system. It's not enough to simply pluck thoughts
out of your head. You have to see that even in nonsense there is sense.
Patterns in the patternless. Surrealism is not a lack of realism but
realism on top of realism, realism beyond realism, a logic inherent in
everything, even when it is nonsensical.

The point of our random thought spew is that non-random thought spew is
equally meaningless. A book written in straightforward prose, expressing
plot, character, and all the usual trappings of a novel, is equally as
meaningless to reading the phone book. The phone book has plot; it has
patterns; it has a story to it. When confronted with a novel, or the
phone book, one has to wonder that we ascribe meaning to either of these
things.

Certain patterns have been labelled "entertaining". Should we struggle to
find joy in the phone book? Should we struggle to find a lack of joy in a
novel? Should we cut pages from the phone book and glue them inside
library books?

Post-modern psychosis? Yes. Consider the sweet scent of the insane.
Maddness is not beautiful. Neither is sanity. Because the two are equal.
Everything is sane; everything is insane. In this lies true beauty and
horror. A rose and a turd both smell strongly. Which one is sweeter?
How do we decide? If you have to choose one of these two smells to inhale
forever, which would you pick? Would it matter?

What does matter? Everything and nothing and all the shitty roses
inbetween. The difference between good and evil is that good determines
which is good and evil. Reality is determined by lottery. Visions form
in the brain and the eyeball. The things beyond the biology are pickled
smoke.

Choose your gibberish carefully. There will be a test later. Here endeth
the sermon.

Very well, and well put, but this isn't alt.surrealism, it's
alt.NON.SEQUITUR. The whole *point* is that things should be
disconnected, should 'not follow' in any way whatsoever. No system. No
meaning. No sense. No patterns. No realism. Posts here that 'follow' other
posts (even if the connection is merely tenuous, yet discernible), stand
in opposition to the newsgroup's purpose. (Yeah, OK, so I've just violated

You are wrong. It is a shoe topping.

Poppycock. John Elvis *was* a lantern, if you get my drift.

I agree. Elvis is real.

Look at the patchwork that extends over the centuries and you'll get the
DRIFT. Salvatore Ranieri first imitated Stacy Volin in 1394. That was
obviously before the divorce.
