okay. i just replied to a post in which i made the comment that a good
noise compilation tape would help immensely. so, here's my offer--

i'd like for some brave, generous soul to make me a noise compilation
tape. i'd pay $8.00 plus postage for two 90-minute tapes. or, the cost
of a 3 pack of 90 minute tapes, whichever costs more. i'm
interested in hearing the "big dogs" of noise--merzbow, masonna, aube,
incapacitants, CCCP, macronympha, hijokaiden, etc. i'd also like to hear
whatever the taker of this fine offer considers the best of the
"not-so-big-dogs" of noise, whoever they may be. i've heard a little of
some of them (merzbow--from dry lungs 1, and the alien8 recordings
website; aube--same website), but not enough to form a decent opinion. i
also live in college station, texas, where there's not a ghost of a chance
of finding any noise tapes, vinyl, or cds. and well, i'd really like to
get a good primer on noise, so that i figure out some places to look for.

i don't know if anyone's going to take me up on this offer, but if you do,
email at ha...@tamu.edu. look at it this way--you're getting paid 8.00
plus postage to listen to your favorite noise, which you'd do anyway. all
i ask is to get a good copy of it...

adam.

is CCCP noise? Whenever I'm looking through the used bins I always
see loads of CCCP CDs and they always catch my eye because I think
they're CCCC. If CCCP is noise then maybe I should start picking it
up.......

your best bet is to contact Beast 666. the 'stupid' compilations
feature the original artists, such as the hanatarashi, the boredoms,
solmania, kk null, merzbow, masonna and the like. good harsh noise.
address is in muckraker. this is not the best noise however.

I think he may have made a typo/confused the two somehow. I'm not
sure why, but I thought CCCP had more in common with the Scorpions
than noise.

Never heard CCCP, I always assumed they sounded more like D.A.F. than the
SCORPIONS though. JBS

I think there;s been at least a couple of bands of this name, one an Italian punk /
anarchist band gone hi-tech a la Chumbawumba, and one a metal band of some stripe. I
might be mixing things up a bit, but the Ital-punk angle I'm pretty sure of.

I'd be interested in paying for mix tapes of any good noise, too. Email me
if you're interested.
