Here's a review. Also, keep in mind that I sell this for $17 ppd in the
US.
Whitehouse "Mummy and Daddy" SLCD020
Well, at long last the latest from the masters of the overviolence is
now available. Being such a huge fan of Whitehouse I must admit that I
find it hard to not like anything that they have recorded. But I must
say that this CD is one of the real good ones. Whitehouse take a turn
with regards to the sound this time. It sounds as if they have
purchased some new gear with the money from all the CD re-issues. I
think it was money well spent. I have yet to pinpoint what they have
added but it sounds as if they are doing some very heavy digital
processing. It sounds as if they are still using the old synths for
sound sources but they have really fucked with the sound (in a good
way). This CD is mastered with exceptional quality. The new Trevor
Brown art is mild but it still has that good old Trevor Brown style.
The booklet is similar to "Quality Time".
There are 5 tracks on this CD. Track 1, "Philosophy of a Wife Beater",
is a subdued, dark track with Bennetts vocals at a whisper well under
the rest of the sound. It clocks in at 5 and a half minutes and is a
great mood setter for the following assault.
Track 2, "Worthless", is a short instrumental track that is recorded
VERY loud. I almost blew the shit out of my speakers when it kicked in.
This is as close to the sound of the past couple of Whitehouse albums
as any of the tracks here, though not really comparable to any one
particular track.
Track 3, "A Cunt Like You", is a remix of "Just Like a Cunt" from the
"Quality Time" album. It is processed with a whole hell of a lot of
really cool digital effects. It sounds as if William's voice is chopped
up and spliced back together creating a very interesting listen. You
hear all the words but were they in the right order?? I don't know but
it was real nice. It sounds nothing like the original.
Track 4, "Daddo", is, hands down, the best track. It is just over 12
minutes long and again is very heavily processed. I can't compare it to
anything at this time but it IS NOT traditional Whitehouse! It is a
sound journey taking you to many different places. The first half is
dark and mysterious then about half way through it really kicks in,
taking you on a wild ride the rest of the way.
Track 5, "Private", is a 22 minute collection of sound bites from
interviews by victims of wife beaters, rapists, child molesters,
murderers and all kinds of deviants. There are some real difficult
words here. No music just words. If you get off on the pain of others
you will love this track.
First, keep in mind that I consider myself a reviewer. I hate
describing sounds. I hated English in school. I just wanted to let
people know that this a very good album. If you are at all interested
in Whitehouse you must have this album. Even if you are not that fond
of Whitehouse you should have this album. My conratulations go out the
William, Peter, Philip, Steve Albini and the others that worked on this
CD.
Nonono. He hated the English. I can identify with that. Heck, who can't?
OH SHIT...that was supposed to say "I don't consider myself a
reviewer." That should explain a lot.

Star Wars the Motion Picture was a big inspiration for me, both
sonically and socially. Don't think we never noticed that all the evil
bastards have posh british accents! You're not fooling anyone!
but in fact the english are in reality pan-dimensional aliens who suck the
life force from young americans through the *gateway* of
alt.noise.....you fools! (in my best oxbridge accent)

Dammit, Hoffmann, between you and Kevin Dunn, the two of you have
raped my bank account as surely as if you had the number.
Any word on the re-relase of Rampton yet?

>this is a bit hard - i can't help where i was born-
Have the English discovered pepper, tabasco, and catsup yet? That will
greatly improve the cuisine, if not the disposition.

At least you got the SUCK part right. Which bring me to my next point, AK Press in the UK
(Undeniable Kookdom) are simple white collar criminals who SUCK zines into their
distribution scheme/scam and then don't pay for them. What a way to run a business. Dat's
right, them bitches owes me duckets and they fucking SUCK. Same goes for USM distro in
London, stupid ass bastards. Little do they know, they're going to pay, one way or
another, they're going to pay. While your at it, also avoid Subterranean in SF and See
Hear in NYC, plain thieves in the mist, they are.
well, there are cunts everywhere man, not just in the UK. If the
population of the US is five times that of the UK that means there are
five times as many cunts. Therefore it could be argued that the US
sucks more than the UK by a factor of some 500%! wow, imagine how much
China sucks...
>Therefore it could be argued that the US

The urge to make many really, really tasteless comments strikes me
here... but I will avoid same. After all, I am the Chupacabra...
therefore I suck. Big time.

>is catsup an Americanism for ketchup?
Archaic, actually. I'm a language snob (having been an English major)
and it really grates on my nerves when the dumbed down spellings of
things, especially food items ("donut"? Oh, come ON...) become common
practice. Of course, for all I know you lot have been spelling it
"ketchup" longer than I've been alive...
>try gentleman's relish or even Worcestershire sauce!
I use Worcestershire in almost as many things as garlic. Makes for an
awesome tuna marinade when you combine the two and throw in an orange
and some balsamic vinegar. Gentleman's relish, on the other hand, is
new to me (unless we have another name for it over here). Describe?

You're dissin' the Sub-Wrecks? I've been dealing with 'em since 1982, and have never had
a problem of any kind.

Hey Goat. No word on Rampton but I will also have the re-reissue of
Peter Kurten and Birthdeath Experience in one week. Of course, each are
$17 as well. Better dig deeper into the account.
