The PRE-73 is the first one-channel low-cost preamp on the market that
is using a fully discrete signal path with three separate transformers
for the balanced mic input, the line input and the output. The circuit
is very similar to the classical preamp section of the Neve 1073 pre/eq
module with a corresponding sound character that is warm, punchy, sweet
and musical.
Review: Great on Vocals, killer on drums for fat open sound, 80 db of
gain - unheard of for a mic pre under $500.00. Plugged in my cheap
Mexican bass tracked with it and what a huge sound, amazing. Built like
a tank, heavy duty box, half-rack space, rack tray available, power
supply external. You have to get of these units, better yet, get two.
Have plenty of units in stock, will ship out same day. Call me at
845-692-6922 and ask for Johnny Z
