Actually <Robin Kurd>, who was the person responsible for the said
report of Kurdishmedia.com (the one <Sherwan> posted), mentioned his
source on a posting dated 2002-09-14.
His source was no other than the site of the Turkish newspaer
Hurriyet.

investors - neither to the state nor to the army. It is committed to
the readers, like
any mass newspaper here and there and everywhere. It is, like all mass

only in the press), subject to a certain percentage of failures.
And here we have a failure - a big one.
Knowing about it, a poster who cares for his credibility verifies the
content *before*
posting.
You have not done it - neither here nor in other cases. I told you
that appearances
are deceptive, remember?
Now it becomes interesting.
The article appeared in usenet in September 2002. I made two phone
calls and some web
research.
The result: It is a fake article.
The Animal's House in Ortakoy (near Izmir) described in the article
had no knowledge
about the story. A journalist from Hurriyet confirmed that the story
was introduced in
the pre-editing process slipping through the controls. A nasty trick
or somebody's
revenge - maybe against the Animal's House, maybe against the
newspaper or a specific
person, maybe against Turkey.
But that is not all.
Following the traces, it came out that this bogus story appeared in
usenet and in
other Internet forums (with a known anti-Turkish attitude) hours
*before* the Hurriyet
edition was released.
So it is clear that is was circulating outside the newspaper, and not
for innocent
journalistic purposes.
I localized one of the main disseminators of the bogus story, a person
who even
boasted about having written it personally.
That person works for an organ with a long record of proven forgeries.
There is hard
rock evidence.
Now, dear gullible copy&paste master, you know that you're walking on
thin ice - with
a nice shot in your feet.
Come again with accusations against Hurriyet (BTW - I have no interest
there) or any
other newspaper, Turkish or whatever.
But don't come as you did here. I don't like people trying to fool
others while
claiming credibility for themselves, definitely not!!
At the end, look at the case described under the link below. It is
worth reading. It
shows that even a newspaper with excellent reputation like the New
York Times is not
immune against malicious slander.

Actually <Robin Kurd>, who was the person responsible for the said

The Turkish daily Hurriyet reported today that the guard responsible

2500 signatures have been collected by animal rights activists for the
closure of the safe house and has been forwarded to the local council.
90 of the dogs from the safe house have been transferred to the
Buyuksehir Council Animal Safe House.
The animal rights activist Sevtap Henrich, who is responsible of the
Animal Safe House in Ortakoy, said they had established that the dogs
had been raped:
"This is really an incredible incident.
Unfortunately we are the victims of ignorance and lack of education.
This kind of activity will not cure chlamydia, in fact it can cause a
lot more diseases", Henrich added.
After hearing rumours that dogs were being raped in the safe house
because it was believed that it would cure clamydia, Chairman of the
Animal Lovers and Protectors? Association, Suna+ Esen Akaturk, said
that she was against the demolition of the premises of the Animal Safe
House:
"I am aware of the fact that this incident is disgusting.
But unfortunately these kinds of incidents are the bleeding wounds of
our country.
Recently in Narlidere, a similar incident took place.
We have taken our precautions here.
I am searching for other reasons behind the demolition of the safe
house.
We built and paid for the safe house with money from our own pockets.
They demolished our work just in two hours.
We were trying to keep the safe house alive despite all the
impossibilities", she said.
