What does the metro do ? Well, the metro has dumb traffic lights...
Now during rush hour and even during business hours, the traffic
lights are probably smart enough. But after business hours the traffic
lights are very dumb. The traffic lights can hold and hold for stopped
cars without any cross traffic anywhere in sight.
A small amount of technology could reduce vehicle pollution in the
metro in the hours after business hours with smarter traffic lights.
