grateful for small favors

I found myself thinking how grateful I am to have the house we do now.
It's got an attached garage, so our vehicles weren't buried in a foot or
two of snow lately. DH, bless his heart, did the driveway with the
snowblower, and I was able to just drive off.

How different from my single days, when I had an apartment with outdoor
parking, and they'd never come to clear the lot!

Her Majesty is on "winter break". She had an invitation to a birthday
party yesterday (a sleepover; her first), and I HAD to get out today to
pick her up at the appointed time. If she weren't already off from
school, I'm sure yesterday would have been a snow day.

Now I just wonder how long it'll take for the snow (accumulated
previously and recent additions) to melt come summer!
