Francis Bacon says “Some books are to be tasted, others to be
swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books
are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously,
and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.”
This sums up all kind of readers, all kind of reading materials and
the purpose of reading. The intention and the interest while reading a
fiction and the same while reading newspaper or office files is
different. Whatever be the motive reading has always been associated
with knowledge, learning and pleasant experience.
