You idiot, Paul asked for how to crack it, not the fucking serials !

The method described below works on all versions (OEM,Upgrade, Stepup, etc ...)
of Windows ME.

Here's you do it.

1. Copy the setup files from your CD to your
hard drive.

2. Go to the directory you copied the files to and
extract setupx.dll from the precopy cabs
and open it with eXeScope.

3. Go to Resource -> String -> 96

4. On the right you will see the second line which
reads 1526,101 . The last 3 digits may vary
depending on the version you got (111, 121, etc...).
Either way, change it so the line reads 1526,100

5. Save the file in your setup directory and exit.

6. Go to the directory you copied the files to and
extract the suwin.exe from the precopy cabs and
open it with eXeScope.

7. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for suwin.exe .

You won't be prompted for the CD Key. You also won't be
prompted for any upgrade check nor will setup bar
you from installing on PCs that have certain earlier Windows
OSes.

And here's the link to download eXeScope if you ever need it:

I tried the following, but was unable to find a string 96 in suwin.exe.
Did I misunderstand something??

1. Copy the setup files from your CD to your
hard drive.
2. Type extract /e /a precopy1.cab setupx.dll + suwin.exe
3. Open setupx.dll with eXeScope.
4. Go to Resource -> String -> 96.
5. On the right you will see the second line which

reads 1526,101 . The last 3 digits may vary
depending on the version you got (111, 121, etc...).
Either way, change it so the line reads 1526,100.
6. Save the file in your setup directory and exit.
7. Open suwin.exe and repeat steps 4-6 for suwin.exe .

Thanks to Mindy Dailey for helping me be brief.

Try again. On the suwin.exe, make sure you click the plus sign next to
Resource, then scroll down, and click the plus sign next to String,
and finally scroll down and highlight 96. You'll find the 1526, string
on the right. Just make sure it reads 1526,100 .

You don't put the files back into the cabs. You leave them in the
directory where the cabs are. You have to understand that when setup
runs, if it doesn't find SETUPX.DLL and SUWIN.EXE in that same
directory (i.e. setup.exe is located in directory d:\win9x but
setupx.dll and suwin.exe are not), then it extracts them along with
the rest of the files in the precopy cabs. If you reread my
instructions, you'll note that it says nothing about putting the two
files back in the cabs files. You edited it, left it where told, no
run the setup program and you'll see that it works.
