Just for laughs I installed this browser. Just like its predecessors this
browser is CRAP!! Netscape still displays webpages totally wrong. Why wont
this piece of crap software die already?? Maybe IE 7 will finally put it out
its misery

No you are a troll!!!!

If you wanted to come here and post questions about why the application
does not work for you, though it does for others, that's one thing, If
you wanted to start an intelligent dialog about the deficiencies of the
program, stating specific flaws, and positing possible answers, that
would be another thing.

Positive comments are welcome. Intelligently thought out negative
comments are also.

Foul language, insults, and generally postings that are designed to
inflame, well, thats a troll.

It was the web designers keeping up with Microsoft. you see Microsoft
wants to take control of the web and build its own standard, then
everyone will have to use Internet Exploder. I have not really use
Netscape 8 yet, but if you took a little bit of notice, you will see
that you can still use the IE engine on sites that do not display
correctly.

I use Firefox myself, as it do not have the security problems that IE
have and I find most website will work fine.

IE7 will not doubt bring another load of security problems.

well if Netscape wasn't crap the web designers would follow their lead. When
I surf the web I wanna see the page the web designer wanted me to see.
Firefox displays web pages wrong too but not as bad as Nutscrape. Changing
the subject to IE's security flaws doesnt support your argument at all.

Well, this is sort of a discussion.

Netscape has exactly the same rendering engine as Firefox 1.0. If page
rendering is the issue, there is no difference. Where are you finding
pages that render differently in Firefox and NS8? I would be interested
is seeing the comparison myself.

I installed Netscape Beta8 last nite on XPro, without problem,,,,
To me it was new, novel, and an interesting skin change, like the
media player's shell....Not unlike Internet Explorer, It has all the
menu, bookmark, edit preferences of Netscape, but in a different
format. But it is in "beta", and I understand that it will improve,
as previous versions did over time. Also check out "options"
(the_old_preferences), where you may be able to choose to use
a Netscape or Internet Explorer pane.

For all the complainers....stop crapping out....go back to IE

Skin change!!!!!!!! Oh no that is the last think I want to hear. Concentrating on
changing the appearance every version instead of fixing the bugs and shortcommings?
Just like mickeysoft, thier code should have been debuged 100 times over, with their constant buffer overun excuses.
In netscape features come and go then come back , or not. It is frustrating but it is free and I think it still leads in features.

thinks that I have problems with:

searching messages from menu ( not sure about the search bar never noticed it till today, lol)
it will not search if you are not on-line eventhough the group is downloaded to the HD.
I have just searched subject that has expired on the server and I think it returned all messages on the server none of them matching the search ( extreemely annoyed by google recently, doing the same think)

Publishing webpages - last time I tried it, it uploaded/replaced all gif files with text, possibly portion of my html page.

Strange thinks happen when you accidentaly open 2 mail windows while it is downloading indexes( messages apearing multiple times), I think in the past 4.6/4.7 it totaly messed up the files that I had to delete them loosing all expired messages.

Occasionaly "My sidebar" is blank just like right now I think I had multiple mail windows open when searching , in the past I thought it was due to no connection or off-line status when openning netscape.
Settings for selected tabs change occasiobnaly. Had to remove news(and crap) yesterday (somebody wants me to spend money, lol)

STILL waiting for the day when I'll be able to delete messages from downloaded news groups.

Well Just now, I installed it onto Win98SE, and like my XPro, it
queried me on importing 7.2 info. Much to my suprise as I was futzin'
around with it, I hit the get mailin the file menu, upon which it
executed my Eudora email program, and searched for mail....

So for now, I have both 7.2 and 8.0 beta, working like charms, each
working from their own folders.

I think people like this do not like seeing a product come out against
Microsoft,

I would not go back to that bug riddled lump of dirt ever again.
If website do not work as it should with Firefox, then I email the
compnay or person the website belongs to and if they do not put it
right, I never go there again.

You are talking a load of rubbish. Web designers do not keep to the
standard., not every one uses a P.C and even if they do, they do not all
use Windows.
It is about time Web designers realise that and stop trying to get Bill
Gates behind.
Uksounds.com is one site that seems to keep with Internet Exploder, they
say there is no way they can design their website to use other browsers.
That is a load of rubbish. If they stopped using WMA, and used MP3 pro,
which can cope with DRM, then people would be able to use what browser
their like.

Companies like these deserve to go out of business.

> Firefox displays web pages wrong too but not as bad as Nutscrape. Changing

Netscape is based on the Firefox engine and as I said before, if you
look a little closer you will also see that Netscape 8 can also use the
IE engine.
The problem is, people install the software and never read the
instructions, and them blame the software or they use the software for
about ten mins and says it is crap.

Security, is important, very important and if Microsoft can not get it
sorted, then let someone else have a go.

I am not saying Netscape 8 is perfect, I am staying with firefox, but I
think you should use it a bit more, before you shout off.

I know one thing this will be the last time I'll ever install a Nutscrape
browser. I hope this crap didn't corrupt any systems files

That is your choice, you are not forced to install oruse another
browser, it is a shame we do not have much choice with Internet Exploder.
