Mindspring Assimilation

Someone please post the date that Mindspring took over from Netcom.
I may have it on floppy but my last computer with a floppy drive died
and I can't see fixing it just for one date which I may not have

I did find a news article on news.cnet.com dated January 6,
1999 6:10 AM PST that announced the acquisition. I presume the
acquistion was actually announced the previous day, since the
article mentioned that the stock was up in morning trading on
the news, and I don't think the exchanges opened until 9:30AM
EST which would be 6:30AM PST.

It opened with:
