Yeah,

I guess Saddam should be invited back so he can once again torture,
murder,
starve, alienate, disposses tens of thousands of people a year.

After all, it is 'his ' country and they are only arabs after
all......

Humbug.....Iraq has a chance on the world stage, a chance of peace and
prosperity and the people will have opportunity now. The sanctions
are
lifted, medicne will be available, people will be able to work, law
and
order will emerge and life can and will only improve.

Iraqi people have the opportunity to grow into a greater future
together and
as individuals. The US should be proud to have initiated the removal
of a
despotic social log jam.

Donna: It is google not working here, sorry for the new thread. This
isn't about Saddam, but it is a typical response of war supporters to
say it is. No, I am not proud, I am ashamed. If the reason for killing
thousands was to remove one despotic leader... why didn't they just
SAY so? How can anyone sit back and accept that explanation? (I get
this image of good ol' boys chugging their beers, slamming them on the
table and saying, "Yeah! Oof! Oof!")If they'd said in the beginning,
"We are going to go over and bomb Iraq with our precision missiles,
killing and wounding thousands of people including innocent civilians
in order to remove this man from power", who would have supported that
action? You are implying - no, you are saying outright, that mass
destruction to eliminate one person is justifiable. There was no
threat from Iraq. There were no wmd's. There was no 'sudden onset' of
suppression of the Iraqi people (the situation has been ongoing for
years and years, and our "beloved leaders" said nothing). There has
never been a proven link between Saddam, Al Queda, and the attack on
the World Trade Center. It comes down to this: One man (still living)
and thousands dead.

KISS. How much simpler could it be?

Iraqi people have 'always' had the chance to "grow into a greater
future together as individuals". This attitude - that we have just
handed them something wonderful on a silver platter - is ridiculous. I
am sure they are all rejoicing over our beneficence as they go about
picking up the pieces of their dead.

Even the 'downtrodden' can be fooled into holding on to false
promises, something for which we have become famous. Maybe there will
be a treaty.
