Ronald Gordon stated that he had seen a documentary on television in
which Nationalists were portrayed as all being on drugs. "Is it true?"
he queried. According to Joe Tapp, there are different "mentalities."
"There is a world in which Meth is a staple among some who claim to be
Nationalist," Tapp relates. "They call it the white-man's drug and
spout pro-majority beliefs, while destroying the lives of themselves
and others."
Many become immersed in the "other world" through upbringing. "It is,
really, a pseudo ideology," explains Tapp, "because they profess love
of country, on the one hand, and use of drugs, on the other." Tapp
observes that Meth-users are "self-proclaimed" rightists. "They call
for preserving our blood, but there is no honor in their tactics,"
relates Tapp, "because genuine Nationalism is about unity and
strength, not destroying our bodies and corrupting our morals." In
fact, actual Nationalists conduct an anti-drug outreach. "The point is
to teach others what being a Nationalist is all about," punctuates
Tapp. "Don't just wind up as some statistic. I despise drugs and
denounce them with a fury. Unless someone understands that drugs set
back and tarnish the cause, he cannot be Nationalist."
Being outside of organized Nationalism can be perilous. Rob Buck had
joined in pro-majority activism in Denver, but refused to sign up as
an actual member. He was found dead of an overdose. Rob Collins was
becoming a "rising-star" in Denver, until he was picked up for drug-
possession and disappeared. Nationalists maintain their own
disciplinary body, however, which seeks to deal with those who break
the rules, but affords direction and second-chances, when possible.
According to Tapp, organized Nationalists are "trying to make up for
the damages caused by those who have illegitimately used our name."
No matter what the documentaries may say, "A Nationalist is one who
stands tall, stands proud and always strides with
pride." Nationalists, also, produce their own documentaries, to
counter misleading reports.
