I read it a while back, when I first found it in paperback. I do not know how historicaly accurate it is, if at all, but, like much of
her work, it is a very good read.

No, is it good? I am currently reading "Brian of Boru", and I'm enjoying
it immensely.

I am a very big fan of Morgan Llywelyn's work. _Druids_ was good. It
basically told the story of Vercingetorix (an actual historical figure)
from the point of view of his soul friend, a druid named Ainvar.
Llywelyn, IMO, is one of the best writers of Celtic stories.
i would highly recommend any of her many books. (One of my
favorites was _Red Branch_, which contained many of the stories
from the Ulster Cycle, concentrating mainly on Cu Chulainn.)

Whoops.. I made an error here.. the book is actually "The Lion of
Ireland: The story of Brian Boru" :)

I think that I will try to get hold of "Druids" once I have finished the
one that I am currently reading.

Cheers,

I read both Druids and Red Branch, and preferred Druids by far. Red Branch
lacked the vitality of Druids, it felt more like a retelling of a tried and
true myth than an exploration/humanizing of myth.

It bored me a little, actually. But perhaps that was because I had just
finished my thesis on Irish mythology (although I didn't concentrate on the
Cuchulain cycle).
