Another good suggestion would have been to post this query to
alt.mythology. I've helped you in that regard by cross-posting this
message there.
But the best suggestion I could give you would be to visit your
local library or bookstore and pick up one of the mythology dictionaries
or encyclopedias they have. These books will give you brief outlines
and descriptions of the deities you are looking for. The book _Dictionary
of Gods and Goddesses, Devils and Demons_ by Manfred Lurker is one
such book. And yes, you'll even find an entry for Dagda in there.
