You might have a look at Chris Siren's Sumerian Mythology FAQ:

You might want to look at:
New Larousse Encyclopedia of Mythology, translated by Richard
Aldington and Delano Ames. Published by The Hamlyn Publishing Group
Limited. The ISBN is 0 600 02420 2. It offers a nice overview of the
mythologies of several different cultures, including
Assyro-Babylonian.
Dictionary of Ancient Deities, written by Patricia Turner and Charles
Russell Coulter. Published by Oxford University Press. The ISBN is 0
19 514504 6. Although this book's name suggests it contains only
descriptions of deities, it also offers a wealth of information on
mythological creatures and places.
Hope this helps!

Is a collection of stories (i.e. no in depth theoretical analysis of each
story, just the story!) in their original form, some are a bit fragmented
(representing damage to the tablets). It's contents are:
Atrahasis
The epic of Gilgamesh
The descent of Ishtar to the underworld
Nergal and Ereshkigal
Adapa
Etana
Anzu
The epic of creation
Theogony of Dunnu
Glossary, Introduction, Chronological Chart etc.
I would recommend it having read it. It's not too heavy going but I like it
because it just cuts out all the rubbish and gives only pure translations of
myths. The glossary is also very good.
