IDIC stands for "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations". I used
it as the subject because I've been wondering;
Do you prefer the traditional lion-eagle gryph, or any of the myriad
combinations around today? I presonnaly have no particular preference,
I like them all!

I prefer the modern diversity, though that includes lion/eagle gryphs,
just not them in isolation. I like diversity.

As a vaguely related note, perhaps all gryphs were lion/eagle ones once,
but they evolved to look different depending on where they lived.
There's been enough time since old lion/gryph stories and now for a far
amount of visual change, and even before that, there may have been
gryphs isolated elsewhere. Or perhaps, there was a common ancestor of
all gryphs, which wasn't lion/eagle like, and the lion/eagle gryphs were
just the ones humans met first. if so, it'd be interesting to think what
the common ancestor would have looked like. (You can tell I've being
doing evolution practicals recently:))

I prefer the 'integrated gryphon'. No real dividing line between fur and
feathers; feathers all down the sides, basically.
(Example: M. Lackey's books)

Same here. I can't draw any of em well, so I bear no preference.
