I loved this movie (inc. Zakk Wylde, Jeff Pilson, and Jason Bonham, with
Trevor Rabin providing additional music)!!!!! JEFF SCOTT SOTO WAS INVOLVED
WITH IT??? Cool.

Are you guys sure? I didn't see Jeff's name in the credits, although I
certainly was looking for it. As well, I sure couldn't identify his voice
anywhere.

The movie was fun, anyway. Hilarious scene when Marky started rapping their
new song and almost got kicked out of the band. "I thought I was singing
it like it was written...". Pretty authentic view of the 80's and early
90's.

Cool. I can't wait to see it then. It's probably not going to arrive for
another month or two for a person from NZ.

In Canada, we wait months after the Japanese get to see and hear new things.
It seems we often get new Yngwie stuff before the US does, however.
That makes it fair somehow. ;-)

The actual voice of the lead singer is the guy from Steelheart. He doesn't
sound very metal. More suited to Journey.

there wasn't just one voice. jeff scott soto was ONE of the guys. mark
wahlberg himself actually sang a few things as well.

the names are in the credits. the only reason i mentioned JSS was because i
stayed to watch the credits and saw his name. i had no idea it'd be there.

From Jeff's Official home Page discography:

http://www.ultranet.com/~dsensing/jss.html

Metal Gods (2000) Mark Wahlberg/Jennifer Aniston movie 'Metal God',currently
filming.
The movie is about a Judas Priest-type band in the 80's who's singer
decides 2 leave the band (like Rob Halford did)....Jeff does the
voice 4 this
character who is portrayed by Jayson Fleming of the English cult hit
movie
'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels'). Wahlberg is a singer in a
'tribute' band of
the 'Priest' band & just like Judas Priest did in real life, they
get Wahlberg 2
replace the departed singer. Zakk Wylde, Jeff Pilson & Jason Bonham
are in the 'main'
band, both in the movie & on the soundtrack of the songs. Jeff is
doing 4 songs 4
the movie & 2 additional tracks 4 the soundtrack album.
No confirmation on its' release date.

I'm disappointed then. I didn't notice his name, and didn't notice his
singing either. As you mentioned, there were a lot of people singing, so
this isn't really a surprise.

Maybe you're confusing him with Boy George. Just kidding. There was a
Culture Club song right near the beginning though, heh.

Wow... he must've changed his style quite a bit. I was really listening for
him, and didn't find a voice that matched. I guess I'm forced to get the
sound track so I can hear it and say "Duhh" after each track. :)
