Gerald Ford- a Yes fan???

I just read an interview with Patrick Moraz in the latest issue of Prog Magazine, where he said that when he was playing with Yes, "The American president" was a Yes fan and would go to Yes concerts... Has anyone heard this? I know Ford's son Jack was a big Rock music fan, but I didn't know that President Ford himself was a big fan...

This is true. President Ford was a big fan. Did go to some shows.
And got the chance to meet the band right before the sound check when
they were playing in D.C. On way over to say hi to Squire, he fell
and knocked all of Moraz's keyboards in to White's drums, and then
stumbled off the state. There were deep fears that Chevy Chase would
get hold of this, it was during his re-election bid. So, of course,
the CIA to cover up the incident, had to bury the whole YES
connection.

In fact, the original working title on Tormato for one of my favorite
tunes was "On the Silent Wind of Falling." Jon was supposed to come
up with lyrics that would drop hints about what happened...you know
like, "On the silent wind from falling, you catch the leader and stand
him right again..." But Wakeman hated Moraz and nixed that.
