Ok, the entire first segment was about the Rock School and how
talented the kids are and how he loves touring with them and so on.
Great. He also, through the host's mention of it, mentioned the
Philadelphia JFK 1976 performance. He said that teh fire marshall did
not want them to use lasers due to interference with the flights out
of the nearby international airport. However, when Gates played, the
used them anyway.
The second segment dealt with Yes. He said that he acknowledges that
there are fans and friends all over the world who would love to see
Yes perform again and so he would like to do that for them. However,
Anderson reported that the band did not want to get together unless
they had a "good reason" - my take was that he was giving his own
reasons for not wanting to reform rather than the band's. The band
feels that the 40th Anniversary is a good reason - or good enough
reason - to reform. Anderson anticipates touring to begin spring or
summer of 2008. He also anticipates recording new music - although he
keenly did not incate the format the music would be relased on (i.e.:
CD or DVD or whatever). He said what he would love to happen is his
"crazy" idea of a three night show - or three part show - one of
regualarly perform Yes music, one of acoustic Yes music, and a third
part of orchestra and choir. Although he realizes that will probably
never happen. He also said Roger Dean is involed in creating artistic
"projections" for the stage show - not sure what that means beyond the
literal meaning (i.e.: that could involve stage props, but who
knows?).
He finally spoke about Ahmet Ertigun (sp?) and how Ertigun did not
give them any direction. He said Ertigun said "I don't know what you
are supposed to do, just do what you want to do." He acknowledged
that teh music industry, whilst havin "great performers and great
songs" is essentially a business devoid of artistic integrity. He
contrasted that with when Yes started and, from his perspective, there
was no business end to the music - it was music because they loved it
and the money was spent on the stage shows.

If Dean is involved in that, how does this fit in with the film
project he had been (and still is?) planning? If one should follow the
other, releasing the film first would be better from a marketing
perspective. And you'd think creating new music for the film would be
a 'good reason' for the band to get together.

It isn't meant to be a ripp-off, like you say. Maybe there wasn't
enough interest to make it happen, just yet. This world isn't like it
was in the 70's. People like Bruun kill alot of dreams. This film is
based on dreams. YES is based on dreams. People who have come to "amy"
for the past several years, looking for YES spirit, have trouble finding
it. A movie as fantastic as the Dean movie, needs alot of spirit, and
time, and effort. ....they're probably afraid to invent new songs,
considering BUSH might have it banned for being far too peaceful for our
warriors.

My reservations for buying this CD has been proven by the bad reviews for
quality on AMY. I guess you can chalk it up to the old saying "if you want
something done right do it yourself."
I haven't bought the Animation CD yet, though I have ordered it with several
items and it hasn't arrived yet. But now that you mention it, I didn't have
anything to do "Froy" making Animation onto CDR, he had that already
himself. Also, the only thing I had to do with Froy's endevours was the
lending of a few records and a short list of favored names of friends I knew
might like the compilations. In return I got a copy of the 4 CDs. Big deal.

position or even *special* positions in movie credits, etc.
There is no movie and likely will be no movie. He didn't deliver all
