We have found some interesting papers in the inside
of a Who album cover that was purchased at a used
record store. If authentic can anyone provide any feedback
on value? Also can anyone suggest how to authenticate?
Below is a partial list of the papers found:

I.)
Date: 27th June 1969
Copy of a contract- (not a photocopy but appears to be part of a
multi-part form with
an original stamp) Premier Talent Associates Inc on the masthead.

This appears to be a copy of the contract for the who to appear at
Woodstock!!!

Contract between between New Action LTD Furnishing the Services of The
Who and
Woodstock Ventures, Inc. for engagement on Aquarian Festival Grounds,
August 16th,1969.

II)
Original typewritten lyrics for “My Generation” -undated- with
handwritten performance
instructions in the margin

III) a letter

from: Barry Perkins, Kings Agency, Ltd.
to: Christopher Lambert, Esq.
date: 22nd March 1965
Dear Sir,
I regret to inform you that the Who’s engagement at the Locarno ballroom
Swindon on
Thursday 15th April has to be canceled. This is due to the fact that
the promoter has
had a lot of trouble there recently and he feels that the Who are not
the type of group
that would
go well in his ballroom. I feel doubly sorry about the cancellation as
you personally
went to
quite a lot of trouble in reserving this date for me. I do think it is
nearly a month
away
and you will most probably get a higher price for this date anyway

IV) another letter on EMI Records LTD stationery

from: John Burgess
to: Mr. Lambert, esq. 113 Ivor Court Gloucester Place London

Dear Mr. Lambert,
I have listened again and again to the High /numbers white labels taken
from our
test session and still cannot decide whether or not they have anything
to offer.
You may, of course, in the mantime have signed with another company in
which
case I wish you all the luck in the world. If you have not I will be
very
interested to hear any other tapes you may have featuring the group.
Yours Sincerely
John Burgess

V)
A Delivery Note:
date: 25th May 1967
from: Brock’s Crystal Palace Fireworks, Ltd.
to: New Action Ltd

1 case containing 1 gross Y2 smoke generators

VI) some type of legal document dated 6 March, 1965
demanding the return of a Vox Phantom Guitar and case
and a Vox Piano Bass

There were also several other papers that appear to be appear to be
lists of paid attendance for a show at a night club with a bar tab
for band members and a handwritten list of engagment dates
that is annotated with percentages, presumably the split between the
band and the club and/or manager.

FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED ON THESE PAPERS!!

Thanks

Sounds like what you've got is the original inserts for LIVE AT LEEDS.
Matches what I got in my copy, all those years ago.

Sorry Stephen, but these are all copies. I'm afraid they are not rare
either - every "Live At Leeds" album (in the UK, at least) had these
documents included. I think The Who just decided to do something unusual
and different at the time. I have the exact same documents in front of
me as I write!

Jesus Christ! Are you kidding?? You found this in a used record store??
What are the chances?

Check the Yellow Pages of the nearest major city near you for APPRAISERS. You
want a good professional opinion on something like this. Check with them
first that they are specialists in paper goods (not jewelry or art, etc.)
before you take the documents over. You may want to make an appointment to be
sure the person you'd need to speak with is in.

Be sure to let us know how it goes!

These are the original inserts from the "Live At Leeds" LP. They tried to
make it look like a bootleg by using the plain paper cover with the stamp and
by stuffing all these dodgy-looking documents inside. Sorry to disappoint
you, but the documents are not real, or rare, or particularly valuable. They
do probably significantly add to the value of the record, though.

Cheers,
Adam

These were released with the LP version of Live at Leeds. It was meant
to look like a bootleg album. There should also be a poster inside.
Value: Not a lot unfortunately.

Alright Yall- Does anybody have a page two to the contract? I was given the contract by a family member hoping that it could be of value. I quickly learned that it isnt all that rare. 500 copies put out with the Live at leads album. So why cantI find any info on this second page? Its like a balance sheet of debt from the band/ i think? anybody know of a second page. iAnd what if I found the actual original contract? What then?
Thanks all
