It's me again. Um, who is Jamie Daltrey? It says that name under
"background vocals" on Roger's album "Rocks in the Head". Is this a
relative of his, or just a coincidence? Just curious.
(by the way, I just got back from "Cirque de Soleil" in Santa Monica (I'm
sure I spelled that wrong) -anyway- if you get a chance to go see it....go
see it!!! It was soo cool (and I'm not normally one to appreciate
seemingly naked people tie themselves up in human knots, but it was COOL.)
The music was AWESOME. I couldn't help but think that PETE would've
really dug it. (it puts you into a kind-of "tommy-esque" trance.)
cya.
(did I mention the music was awesome?)...

"She" is actually a he, and he is Roger's son, born in 1981. He sings
backing vocals on his dad's "Rocks In The Head" album, and also played
cornet with the Kick Horns during the Who's 1989 American tour -
photographic proof of this exists in the re-issued "Maximum R&B" book by
Richard Barnes.

I think she is Roger's daughter.

No, no no! Jamie IS the son! I've seen pictures of him! See the new Max
R&B book....

Umm, sorry to burst your all-knowing bubble, dude, but Jamie Daltrey is
indeed a boy. I have three different US newspaper articles annnouncing
his birth, plus the aforementioned and updated "The Who - Maximum R & B"
book in which Roger is described as being happy that the 1981 European
tour was over "so that he could go home and play with his new son, Jamie."
(Page 147) There is also a picture of Jamie playing cornet with the Kick
Horns during the 1989 American tour later in that same book.

Are you a personal friend of the Daltrey family? How can you claim this?
Truth be told, Roger actually has TWO sons, of which Jamie is the younger.
He has a 32- year-old son, Simon, from a brief first marriage in the
sixties (Heather is Roger's second wife).

Pardon me for my arrogance here, but don't you hate people who come into
this newsgroup and act like they know what they're talking about... just
so that they can have the privilege of being shot down by REAL Who fans?

You got it, Bassplyr! Jamie IS Roger's youngest son--born during the "You
Better You Bet Tour" on February 2, 1981. That makes him about to turn 16
years old in a couple months.

Actually, he's Roger's third son. Roger's oldest son, Simon is from a
previous marriage (a brief marriage to a women named Jackie). Roger's
second-oldest, is Matthew who lives in Sweden. And his daughters, Rosie &
Willow, along with Jamie are products of his longtime, loving marriage
with his wife Heather.

Jamie also co-starred in Roger's "After The Fire" video in 1985 (an "Under
A Raging Moon" solo album single).

Just thought I'd set the record straight to anyone wondering about Roger's
offspring.

Happy Holidays to Everyone! :)

And as some trivia, Jamie was born on Roger's birthday.
