Yesterday Pete Townsend played a benefit in Chicago at the house of blues.
He had an interview with Steve Dahl on WCKG. Townsend was put off that he
had to wait 7 minutes from the time he walked in the door until the
interview. so much so that he cut the interview short after about 30
seconds.
I am a big who fan and was rather diaspointed in Mr Townsend. I have heard
interviews with dozens of performers on this particular radio show and was
really looking forward to this interview in particular.
Steve handled it with grace and dignity sorry to see such poor behavior from
a musician that i had admired so much.

So, you're going to toss your admiration for him out the window based on
something you heard on the radio from a DJ? How do you know exactly what
happened there? Maybe Pete was having a bad day...probably saw his name spelled
incorrectly for millionth time (H!). Or maybe there is more to the story than
you know. Cut him a break.

Anyway, rarely have I met a DJ I would in any lifetime feel sorry for...they're
one step above circus clowns in the entertainment world.

Steve Dahl is a jerk. If I was Pete, I would have scheduled an interview with
the real Who fanatic of Chicago radio.....Roe Kahn / and Gary Meier.

Steve Dahl is not a typical DJ, he's been doing his thing here for over 20
years and has dealt with hundreds of musicians. Something was bothering Pete
but I doubt if he'll ever address it.

If you're sitting around to talk, 7 minutes is a frigging eternity.

Talk mid way through his show with no warning to the station.
