We start this month with a interview with Scratch Pet Land:
The brothers Nicolas and Laurent Beaudoux have done it well since their
first gig in 1996. The gig was in a large surface carpet store called
"Carpet-Land". From then on Scratch Pet Land was a fact.
In 1998 the debut was released on the Source label from Nicolas Godain,
active in AIR. And this year they released the second album 'Solo Soli
iiiii' on Sonig (label from Mouse on Mars). So an attractive cv from this
duo from Brussels.
The duality between complex and weird, humorist, made from 'solo soli iiiii'
a remarkable album between the over-kill of electronic releases. There is a
strong difference between the debut and this release. My brother called it
even a difference in style…. And ask Nicolas;
Also a interview vs review with Rogervanlunteren we let say it himself:
I am absolutely happy with the re-release. The CD is a beautiful digipak
the vinyl will feature a bonus 7inch with 2 unreleased tracks from the
tmæins-sessions. I guess Bernd (Heimelektro-Ulm boss) wanted to pay his
tribute to the record that it deserved, since it has apparently been an
insider tip since it's release and only had a sticker instead of a nice
designed cover.
And we can agree with that insider tip, also his project Delos is very
strong.
Your first review this month is with Lowsunday;
Released on the projekt label from New York that have some interesting names
among their artist, Steven Roach, Vidna Obmana, and soon also this Lowsunday
because this record is worth while.
