According to Pat (from his page), they haven't recorded the song yet. Also,
he said the compilation (not necessarily a tribute) was going to be done on
Glue Factory. I think we can gather that the release date isn't going to be
anytime soon.

Here's the Gluefactory page for those who want to check it out:

Is this about John Lennon's cat again? Look, I was kidding, neither Matt
nor Jason touched that cat...

PIXIES TRIBUTE CD IN THE WORKS

California label Glue Factory are putting together a Pixies tribute
album, featuring new takes on the Boston band's classic material by
the likes of Weezer, Superdrag, Letters To Cleo and Nada Surf.
Scheduled for a February 1999 release, the album is the brainchild of
Kevin Knight, Glue Factory's president. Knight called Weezer boss
Rivers Cuomo directly to ask if the band would contribute a song, and
both Eve6 and the Jesus & Mary Chain have been contacted as well. That
last one could be very interesting, considering the Pixies covered the
Chain's "Head On" back on 1992's Trompe Le Monde album. According to
AllStar online news, the confirmed tracklisitng for the album Where Is
My Mind: A Tribute To The Pixies looks like this:

* Weezer - Velouria
* Superdrag - Wave Of Mutilation
* Nada Surf - Where Is My Mind?
* Letters To Cleo - Debaser
* Jimmy Eat World - Caribou
* Getaway Cruiser - U-Mass
* Far - Monkey Gone To Heaven
* The Get Up Kids - Alec Eiffel
* Samiam - Here Comes Your Man
* Weston - La La Love You
* Teen Heroes - Manta Ray
* Braid - Hey
* Siren Six - Holiday Song

awww yeeaw. its gonna rock.
