I like both Weezer and the Rentals. I read in this group that the new
Weezer album is on the way, but will Matt ever get the Rentals back
together? I'm wondering if anybody's heard anything about this...

The release date of the Rentals album keeps getting pushed back and pushed
back. As of January 14th, it was still "tentatively" scheduled for an April
14th release. But once again, that could be pushed back even farther. =Ş

SOunds familiar, doesnt it? I really hope maverick doesnt shelf the
Rentals record and bag it entirely like DGC did with Special Goodness.

By the way, I _dont_ have a copy of the Rentals new cd, but when Matt was
in town, Mykel had a copy of the preliminary mix for the thing, and it
sounded really good. Not what i expected at all, and I seem to remember
there even being a hop-hop-ish song in it.

Has anyone else heard rumors about how the record will sound?

I heard the the mighty STEVE M from pavement is on the CD as well as DAmon from
blur. That would make for one hell of a CD!

matt is working hard, but he is very confused. i don't know why anybody would
make a release date for a record theat the artist is still screwing around
with. there is no steve malkmus on the record. matt is not in homey, but he and
rivers did go into the studio together on friday and pat went there on saturday
to work on american girls. the chances of matt salvaging his standing in weezer
are slim.
and boy doesn't it suck what they did to the special goodness! someone should
have to pay for that.

Pat Finn? Pat Finn is a weezer god, home fries. He's the man behind the
men.

There are stories of him, Mykel, a 14 inch pizza and a bottle of bourbon
that would put hair on your chest, like it did on mine.

Nobody knows who Pat Finn _really_ is.. he's just a mysterious figure from
the East that shows up during the best of times and the craziest of days.
I think he is actually the mythic god Hermes.

Consult old issues of the weezine.. I think it mentions Pat at times.
