i hope to write an article on software piracy, and i was hoping that someone
out there might be aware of a DVD-ripper. This is a program that decodes the
scrambled data on a DVD disk and writes the raw mpeg-2 movie files to one's
hard drive. it is my belief that the copy-protection on DVDs has already
been hacked by someone and i want to find out if this is true or not.
i know that 2 of the 3 copy-protection schemes for DVDs have already been
defeated- the region-coding and the modulation that prevents you from
hooking a vcr up to a dvd -and i want confirmation that the 3rd has been as
well.
