2.2.90, ween opened for Henry Rollins and played 10 songs for a not entirely
enthusiastic crowd. Rollins came out to do his show and began with ~5 min
spiel on (mostly) ween. It's precious, makes me smile.

he said:
"I was standing back by the bar, watching ween fuckin kick out the hard jams,
treating it like a fucking seminar". (hoots and boos) "I see that we have a
mixed reaction in the crowd. Now, y'see, you go home and you put on Rattle and
Hum (etc.) and you're there with your dick in your hand and you're, you're
trying to get off - you realize that these bands just Don't get you off. It's
like their whole lives these bands are encased in condoms, safe songs about
safe sexism. (?) Then out of nowhere, out of a total musical vacuum, out of
total darkness comes one ONE ONE ONE one ray of light and it's fucking WEEN!!!"
(cheers) "Now, I know, there probably are a few of you who don't like ween. My
suggestion is that you start liking them now, so that years from now when y'all
are shelling out $25each gladly to go see them at the Spectrum, you'll be able
to say "oh yeah man, i was kicking back in Trenton City Gardens ~8 months ago
:) when they were small. Before their rocket to stardom"...(here he goes off on
"Flouncing Nellie" bands)....
"When that shit becomes your only musical alternative, you will get down on
your filthy knees and crawl to the alter that is ween. So, do yourself a favor
and worship them now."
THE END.

Nope. (Quoting Gener from an interview: "& now we have bassist Andrew Weiss, an
ex Rollins player.")
