He continually tells us how incredibly rich that DLR is. From his VH
career, royalties and sales of classic VH albums (remember when he
thought Dave made a "hefty sum" from the sale of 1,000 classic VH
albums. LOL).
He continually refers to Roth's "mansion" as proof of Dave's incredible
wealth.
He told us that Roth plays embarrassing venues by choice. He's a
performer who wants to perform. He plays where he wants, when he wants.
He doesn't need the money.
Chuckie was crushed after finding out that Roth is actually playing rib
joints, pig roasts, carnivals and tiny 800 seat venues just to pay the
mortgage.
In this forum he quickly dismissed my quote as rubbish, then he ran to
the Roth Army in a panic and asked if it was true. LOL
As I said earlier, Roth was in perilous financial condition in the late
90's and early 2000's.
In a desperate, last chance attempt to dig himself out, he mortgaged
his house and spent nearly a million dollars of his own money on the No
Holds BBQ video.
He literally put his house on the line (confident that the video would
be a huge success).
How many did he sell?
How much money has he made since then?
How much did he make from "Diamond Dave" (15,767 sold)?

Did Dave really mortgage his Pasadena home in order to pay for the
No-Holds BBQ video? And is it true that even after he did that, there
still wasn't enough money to pay for it, so he had to go on tour?

You have taken it upon yourself to prove to the Roth faithful that Van Halen
2004 is still a force to be reckoned with and you have supplied positive
reviews from around the county that show that the band is doing what it
should be doing, entertaining people, and that the shows are selling ok for
a slow concert season. You now have the groups permission to resume your
normal life activities and stop obsessing over a band that is probably going
to break up again after this tour is over.
There are programs designed to help people like you if you need it. I
suggest you turn that computer off for at least a week and get outside for
some fresh air and sunshine. Then maybe you'll see that it doesn't matter if
the Rothians want the tour to tank and post lies about how bad it's doing in

This is a ridiculous debate any way. While I love Sammy and the music he
did with VH, the band was way better with DLR. That music changed rock and
roll and is the most influential. While Van Hagar was good, it was hardly
vital. Even my best friend, who is a die hard Sammy fan, will concede that
the Roth years were the best. So let's all stop our bitching and give in to
reality. Oh and yes: The Van Hagar tour last year was a major bust. A lot
of VH fans may like Sammy, but they want Dave. So it's time to put a kabosh
