Thought you'd like some additional info - here's what Cherone.com has to
say - this might be a valuable source for those interested because they
appear to be really following the break up.

Anyway, I can't say that I'm happy he's gone (was going to judge him on the
next CD to be fair).

Have a great day..

Updates Regarding the Van Halen Split
Content Contributed by: cherone.com

Everyone seems to be looking for answers regarding the recent Van Halen
split. There is a large amount of speculation surrounding this issue. We
will do what we can to keep you updated on the information as it rolls in.

Here's what is known:

The band has, in fact, parted with Gary Cherone. That is not to say that
Gary has left the band, nor is it to say that he was fired. However,
according to the recent press release, they went separate ways on good
terms. "I had a great time singing with the band and I wish Eddie, Alex and
Michael all the best. I'll see 'em in Boston," said Gary, while Eddie
commented, "Gary is a brother and he and I will continue to have a personal
and musical relationship."

Concerning the album, the band went through three producers and finished
nine songs, with approximately twenty written. The tour was to begin in the
Spring of next year. Obviously, that project has ceased indefinitely.

Eddie Van Halen continues to maintain a good relationship with Gary, and
Gary with Ed. This is refreshing considering the controversy over the
previous two splits.

What is not known:

The exact reason or events leading up to the breakup is still in question,
and unconfirmed.

Whether or not any of the nine recorded tracks will ever see the light of
day remains to be seen.

It is also unclear what this means for the remaining members of Van Halen,
given that Eddie was very vocal about this being the third and final
incarnation of Van Halen.

It is not known whether Eddie and Gary will complete any other work together
in the future.

And finally,

Cherone.com will not post any information as fact until it can be confirmed.
