As you may know, MUSIC WORKSHOPS INTERNATIONAL (MWI) prepares hundreds of
packets each month for free distribution at local, state and national choral
reading sessions and music education events for band,orchestra, general music
and choir directors. Our goal is to “connect” directors needs with the music
industry. We keep music samples & information from many, many music businesses
on hand at any one time. We also publish the music ed. resource guide, ALL
THINGS MUSICAL given free to 50,000 music teachers.

1. MENC National Convention (April 15-18, 1998 - Phoenix, AZ) - Packets
200 SPECIAL CHORAL & 200 INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PACKETS will be distributed to
Music Education Leaders from the MWI Booth #536 at the national convention.
MWI has purchased a full page ad in the convention program announcing the
availability of these packets. Dave Bowden and I will personally distribute
packets only to Music Supervisors, Department Heads, Music Chairpersons, and
Leading Educators. Your materials will receive excellent exposure to the real
decision makers in music education! We invite you to supply materials for the
choral and/or instrumental packets.
2. New Hampshire All-State Choir Festival -Reading Session Packets
100 CHORAL READING SESSION PACKETS are being prepared for this event to be
held in early April. This will be a LIVE READING SESSION and all pieces will
be read. The event coordinator/reading session leader is: Robert Swift,
Chairman and Professor of Music at Plymouth State College, Plymouth, NH. He is
a dynamic conductor and well-organized. We prepared a Reading Session for them
in 1995 that was extremely well-received - they want to do it again! You may
send Choral Copies as well as flyers, brochures, catalogs for this session
packet. They would like to read music for MIXED VOICES - sacred, secular,
accompanied and a cappella.
Promotional Fees to participate: 25¢ per item in each packet
Supply MWI with your Music Sample Copies, Scores, Brochures, Flyers, Catalogs,
etc. No limit. (Example of fees: 1 item in 200 MENC packets - $50; 1 item
in MENC Choral AND Instrumental packets - 400 packets - $100; 1 item in 100
NH packets - $25) Remember: Packet Promotion of this nature is less expensive
that mailing & postage costs!
To participate, your materials should reach MWI no later than Monday, March 2,
1998 along with payment. Payment Methods: CHECK (payable to MWI), VISA, MC,
AMEX (include your card number, exp. date and name on card.)
1. Please contact MWI NOW to reserve your space in each packet. Call, fax,
email or write us with the number of items you wish us to promote for you.
Feel free to fax back the bottom portion of this letter.
