There is almost no news coming from Tool about the upcoming album and
live DVD. As of an April MTV interview with Danny, they had 10-12 new
songs in the "infant stage" and expected to record in Sept 04.

Next time you speak with Danny, could you ask him a couple of
questions?

1) What is the status of the new album? Did they record already and
if so, how many tracks will there be? If not, how many songs have
they completed? When do they expect a release? etc...

2) Will the next album be like Lateralus and AEnima with segues
between the songs? Or just straight music like Opiate and Undertow?

3) Are they still planning on putting out the live Lateralus tour DVD?
And if so, any idea when?

Thanks.

Hi Barney,

Last time I talked to Danny he said he was very pleased with the progress on
the album. He said a few songs were in pretty completed form. He said they
will have plenty of good material, it is just a matter of what will fit
togather well. I don't know how may tracks or how they will be put togather.
He said he thought it would be released in the spring. But as most Tool fans
know " Don't hold your breath"
They are still in contract negotiations on the DVD. To oversimplifiy the
matter a bit,
The record label wants the DVD practically free, And of course Tool is
saying
"show me the money" They could already have a deal and they might never come
to terms, Your guess is as good as mine. When Danny is around to vist
family I try not to "talk shop" too much. I figure he gets enough of that
already.

David,

Why does Tool hate St. Louis? I think it has something to do with you
and him being Kansans, Ya' bastards.

Too bad that you're considerate of your brother, David, because there's now
hundreds of dumb people that expect you to know everything they've ever
wanted to know about Tool, and who will be angry if you can't answer them.

I hope you can find a way and a reason to stick around, because all other
"insiders" have had to leave in disgust at some point. Sadly, it seems that
every internet community has enough unbalanced people to annoy the shit out
of anyone with a special status.

So anyway, I hope your auction goes well, and that your financial situation
improves.

Sébastien

Not my questions, but thanks very much for the info.
