i was there! i don't know... i was on the floor when the opening act IVY
was doing there thing (BTW they're pretty cool), as soon as TMBG got up
on stage I left the floor/pit/sauna from hell!! (maybe i'm getting on w/
the years or what - nah, i'm a wimp!) i couldn't deal with the
"moshing"... i migrated upstairs
the apollo 18 tour in pittsburgh and even in my hometown,
morgantown, were better than what i experienced at the metropol on 3/23.
THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO STUMP THE BAND!!!!!! am i out of it? when did this
tradition/ritual/meaning of my existence stop??

and what radio station would that be, neil?

i was also at the show. i've seen them 3 times now.
the metropol does suck, i couldn't see very well.
the only ggod thing was that i was older than most people
there (yikes!) and therefore taller.

the drums are an incredible addition to the touring version
of tmbg, as are the horns. as a result, "sleeping in the flowers"
was the highlight of the show. it rocked my ass off.

the band is certainly not shy about playing their singles,
but i must admit i would have liked to hear some b-sides
(perhaps "we're the replacements" in honor of the 1995 baseball
season) and more from john henry, like "subliminal," "destination
moon," and "i should be allowed to think" (which also kicks ass).
but, you can't please everyone.

at least they haven't lost any integrity despite being on a major.

I was there! I got in for free, no less. I have to admit that I've
sort of fallen out of love with TMBG over the last couple years, but they
put on a great show! And that was definately the best and most happy crowd
I've ever seen at Metropol, not to mention plentiful. They even enjoyed

Ivy, which was the main reason I was there (aside from the sheer happiness
of winning two tickets on the radio.)
