Decent performance of 'The Mesopotamians' on Conan last night. Linnell
was on great form. I dont know if it is the Grammy win that made him
more energetic and cheery than usual, or perhaps he feels that he has
to take the lead a bit more given Flansburgh's recent loss; but it
definately felt like HIS band for a change. Normally Flans does the
personality stuff while Linnell gazes anywhere but into camera.

At first I thought Linnell had the two grandfather photographs from
the Lincoln cover on his keyboard table - then I realised it was Abe
Lincoln and Charles Darwin! There was also a homemade 'Darwin Fish'
stuck to one of the amps - either a homage to his 200th birthday or a
response to recent discussions here?

hehe.

Obviously the latter. Touched a nerve, I think.

Appropriate that Flansy is confirmed as a mere sidekick during the
last gasp of Late Night w/Conan, in what was possibly TMBG's last
broadcast talk show appearance ever.

Also, ''Mesopotamians'' sucks for 20 different reasons and almost any
other song from The Else would have been better, but doing a crappy
overwrought edutainment song during their last-ever network TV
performance is appropriate given their declining career as Musicians For
Adults.

PS: RIP Earl Flansburgh. Not an excuse.

Your post sucks. How DARE you force me to read it! Since this
newsgroup exists to please me and me alone, I demand that you write
something better.

So, you are the mysterious inspiration to Their upcomming "Science"
song, "I Am The Center Of The Universe!"

Wow, I thought this was a TMBG "fan" community. My mistake, it's
apparently actually a "why TMBG sucks now" group.

You keep using that word -- I do not think it means what you think it
means.

When my dad dies, the first thing I'm gonna think is "geez, my music
sucks - how can I please my fanbase more and pick more popular songs
to appeal to the middle-of-the-road crowd and sell less CDs as a
result?" You're totally right, fuck Flansburgh and his dad as people.
If the music sucks, his dad died in vain! O:

You know, there's this thing called sarcasm.
Not sure if you were using it or not, but I was.
