Being a TMBG completist is a sickness, I think. The lure is always the
same: "bonus tracks." As long as there's the promise of something new
tacked onto the end, fans are willing to pay the price.
Twenty years from now, when we're all older and fatter, some new format
will have replaced the compact disc, all of TMBG's material will be
reissued once again (with, of course, bonus tracks), and we'll all end up
buying "Lincoln" for the umpteenth time.
It's sad but vaguely reassuring.
By the way, I bought "Then" as soon as I could and am enjoying it right
this minute.

Well, yeah, and the fact that it was all remastered helped me a bit. I
was planning on buying Msic. T and Truth or Sandwiches (I have them on
tape right now) so Then was a bargain for me, but even had I them on cd, I
would have bought Then anway. I also have Star Wars on video and have
seen all three movies a bazillion times, but I still paid five bucks to go
see it the night it came out. Why? Because it was re-done, there was new
stuff I hadn't seen before, and its my favourite movie. Same as why I
bought Then: It was re-done, there was new stuff I hadn't heard before,
and its my favourite band. Though I tend to pay quite a bit for the
novelty factor too...
