Here's the set list:
spider
sleeping in the flowers
birdhouse in your soul
spiraling shape
meet james ensor
james k polk (preceded by the canon)
she's actual size
where your eyes don't go
sexxy
older
spy
i am not your broom (yes! actually, this was sung in the middle of
spy...)
counterfeit faker (will be on next album "which won't be released
for a long, long time")
xtc vs adam ant
exquisite dead guy
how can i sing like a girl?
rhythm section want ad (one of the best live songs IMO)
pet name
no one knows my plan
the guitar
istanbul
new york city
till my head falls off
---
encore:
---
shoehorn with teeth
twisting
new song (they didn't say name)
dig my grave
---
second encore:
---
sexxy (again!)
birdhouse in your soul (again!)
particle man
we're the replacements

Some notable absences, as always. But overall a lot of stuff I haven't
heard before in concert (unlike most of you, I've only seen Them three
times now). Surely they could have played Ana Ng and She's an Angel
instead of playing sexxy and birdhouse second times. But all in all,
good show.

BTW, why did they repeat SEXXY and Birdhouse in the third set? Is it
just their polite way of hinting that they didn't want to play anymore
that night or did they just forget they'd played them already? Either
way it was fun, and I loved the confetti cannon for James K. Polk. Three
rows from the stage, the effect was terrific. I only wish they'd
played Purple Toupee.

I thought it was really really weird that they played those two a second time.
Both songs rocked so much ass the second times, so I wasn't complaining, but
everyone around me looked at each other perplexed with each one. I think
maybe they were disatisfied with the first run-throughs of those and thought
they could do better, so decided to do just that. Maybe they just thought it
would be neat.

Anyway, the "new song" was odd also. "We're going to Miami tonight...We're
gonna bust up some drug cartels...we've infiltrated this hippie rock shit..."
Really odd. My friend said it didn't sound like theirs, so he thinks it may
be a cover, but I know not of who. It was neat, and they mentioned Miami once
or twice at other times during the show.

I got it all on tape. Incredible copy, spaced out over two tapes to
minimize song cut-off. Don't swamp me at the moment, please, for I am
financially challanged for the time being. I have about four people I'm
trading with right now, and I plan to offer to them first, and then to
whoever's interested a little later. I'll throw in the go ahead to anyone
interested within the month, so please be patient. It's worth the wait.

Well, though they didn't play PT, there was that one guy with the purple
mohawk directly in front of me, and after the conga line, there was the guy in
the purple mad-hatter hat between myself and Linnell. Woulda tried to get
closer, but there was this nasty barracade that would have made my recorder
blatently obvious to the big bouncer guy.

The cannon went off right on the first hit of JKP, and Linnell made the
comment, "It always warms our hearts when the confetti cannon works on time"
or some such similar sentence. The guys in Oz said it went off at undramatic
points or didn't go off at all. How many times has it actually gone off on
the hit at the end of the word "expansioniiiiiiiiiiiist!!!" ?

Just as ignorant about the rarity of third sets, but the last one was
completely un-layed out. Flans went over to Linnell at the end of the second
SEXXY and mouthed "Particle Man" to him, and L- thought about it for a sec and
agreed.

In article <spagmump.1...@worldnet.att.net>,

While I didn't really mind hearing birdhouse again, SEXXY was a bit annoying,
and I think they did it to try and push SEXXY and birdhouse as their
themesongs. They're trying to become more mainstream and SEXXY is alot more
"pop" than their other stuff. Birdhouse...well birdhouse is just a great song.
