Hey guys! Though I've been listening to Them forever (it seems)...I
have not yet been to a concert!! But I'm seeing them in at SUNY/Oswego
this Sunday (11/23)!! (Yay!) A couple of questions to the group:

Anyone seen anything at SUNY/Oswego before? What's the place like?

And to everyone....any tips for a first-time TMBG concert go-er?? :)
(Also, what are they playing now?)

You all have no idea how excited I am about this!!!

Okay, guys...I have returned from my first ever TMBG concert....WOW! It
was just waaaaaay too cool!! I'm still feeling the high from it. And I
think I made out pretty damn well for the first time. I was right in
the front...about 5 feet from Flansburgh...and I got his pick! Anyone
who went might remember him having the security guard strum his guitar
during "The Guitar"? Well, Flansy gave the pick to the guard, who
didn't know what to do with it, so he gave it to my girlfriend, who in
turn gave it to me (she's not a complete convert yet, and felt that it
would mean more to me...she's cool like that). So, I now have JF's pick
sitting on my desk, until I can find something more permanent to do with
it. :)
I thought the show was really cool, and the John's looked like they were
having a lot of fun with it too (apparently JL had recovered from
Toronto). There were only two problems I had: 1) we were standing so
close that we heard too much guitar and not enough voice (the speakers
were actually *slightly* behind us) and 2) the crowd around us was a
little annoying. It seemed like mostly the "You mean they have other
songs besides Istanbul and Particle Man?" crowd. Anyone else think
that?
Anyway, I shouldn't complain. The whole night was way too cool. And,
of course, I'm counting the seconds to the next show I go to :).

Yeah, most of the audiences are pretty good and generally behave
themselves, but you still always run into the annoying particle man
crowd. especially at free shows.
